Our services
Healing Native Hearts Coalition offers support and advocacy, on-call crisis intervention, referrals and community awareness and education as guided by its mission:
“To restore and empower native families by educating our communities about domestic violence and sexual assault, building partnerships and honoring traditional ways.”
The Healing Native Hearts Coalition advocacy program serves the 42 villages in the Interior of Alaska as well as American Indian and Alaska Native victims of crime by offering the following:
Victim Advocacy

HNHC’s advocates are available to help clients with creating safety plans, accompaniment to appointments and court proceedings, assistance with applications as well as offering culturally focused support groups throughout the year. Other client victim services may be offered based on funding availability.
Technical Assistance
HNHC offers presentations at community events and to organizations, groups and schools, covering the topics of domestic violence, sexual assault prevention and more. The coalition regularly travels to villages, participating in health fairs, gatherings and other community-focused events while also offering culturally based training to tribal communities.

Referrals
Advocates help assist clients by offering referrals on a case-by-case basis. Referrals are made to mental health practitioners, services promoting self-care, Access Alaska, TCC, FNA, Resource Center for Parents and Children (RCPC), Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living (IAC) and others as best suited to the clients’ unique needs.
